Why Did Britt Leave General Hospital

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest there are many fans who still miss Britt Westbourne. Played by actress Kelly Thiebaud, the character started off as a villain in the soap opera, but eventually redeemed herself as time wore on. Sadly, she exited the show in 2023. Still, why did Britt leave the show?

General Hospital Spoilers – Britt Westbourne’s History With Port Charles

Britt Westbourne entered GH storylines in 2012. As the daughter of Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) “The Britch” was born to cause chaos, and she did a lot of that in the little town.

From trying to keep Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) and Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) apart to stealing Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu Falconeri’s (Emme Rylan) embryo, she wreaked a ton of havoc in her earlier years.

Still, in and around 2013, Britt began to realize the error of her ways and began to do better.

She established a nice bond with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), and her closeness with brother Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and his wife Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) eventually helped place her on the road to redemption, a journey that inspired her mom Liesl to do the same.

Britt’s romance with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) had fans swooning, and her bestie status with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) once had fans disgusted, but eventually became endearing.

GH Spoilers – The Reason Britt Westbourne Left, The Reason Kelly Thiebaud Left

Britt exited storylines in early 2023 when she tried to save Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) from the Hook Killer, a.k.a. Heather Webber (Alley Mills). She was successful in doing so; however, the hook used was poisoned, which eventually killed her.

Still, actress Kelly Thiebaud revealed in the summer of 2022 that she was going to be working on the primetime show Station 19.

While it seemed for a long while that Kelly may have been able to work on both shows, as December that year rolled around, Thiebaud confirmed she was leaving the soap, and moved to London.
