According to a new report, Harry and Meghan are facing a difficult financial future, and that’s mostly because their brand has been tainted. As many fans are probably aware of by now, Spotify cut the cord on their contract with the Sussexes, leaving them without their $20 million paycheck.
If that weren’t enough, Christian Dior decided that they didn’t want to work with Meghan Markle while it’s also been rumored that Netflix doesn’t want to work with them either, mostly because the Sussexes have produced such little content in the last several years.
Well, according to royal expert Celia Walden, she says that it’s going to be hard for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to prove their worth to the market after one Spotify executive called them “lazy grifters.” Celia says that in America, you can be anything, but you just can’t be lazy.
She put it this way, “Americans have absolutely no patience for people who don’t do the work. Once you become tainted, particularly in America, then everybody [brands] starts backing off at the same time. And the fact is, they can’t afford for that to happen.”
Now, whether or not this becomes the beginning of the end for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remains to be seen but for now the Sussexes have made no comments about the matter. Watch this space.
