Was 90 Day Fiancé Stars Jovi & Andrei’s Bar Chat Scripted?

90 Day Fiancé fans have often raised the question as to whether the TLC reality show is scripted. This is particularly so after a scene aired where Jovi and Andrei are arguing in the bar. Reportedly, the pair decided to enjoy a drink together before filming the show’s Tell-All, but things went horribly wrong.

The scene started with Andrei Castravet “enjoying” a drink in the hotel bar with Jovi Dufren prior to filming the show’s Tell-All. However, it ended up with the two men throwing barbs at each other about how they treat their respective women.

Meanwhile, Andrei revealed that he and Jovi were staying in the same hotel while filming the Tell-All and decided to meet up for a drink or two. It started out with the two TLC reality stars enjoying small talk but quickly escalated into a fight after Jovi accused Andrei of being a problem for his wife Elizabeth “Libby” Potthast and her family.

In reply, Andrei was quick to mention Jovi heading to a strip club with his wife, Yara Zaya, which led to Jovi storming out.

Was the scene between Andrei and Jovi scripted?

Now, fans are split as to whether the scene was scripted. Admittedly, Andrei is known to be a hothead, but fans have accused TLC in the past of scripting scenes where he fights with Libby’s brother Charlie. Actions like fights do tend to sell reality TV, right?

Some fans did believe the action was scripted, while others blamed Andrei’s aggressive nature for the bar battle. One Redditor didn’t think the action was scripted. In their post, they mentioned that Jovi seemed “so monotonous” during the argument with Andrei, making out that it was scripted. However, the Redditor pointed out that by nature, Jovi is “notoriously socially awkward and weird” unless he was “very intoxicated.” They believed he was nervous about speaking his mind to Andrei, as he is “disgustingly aggressive and twice Jovi’s size.”

However, while they didn’t believe the scene was scripted, they didn’t doubt that producers encouraged or arranged the meetup.

Another Redditor commented on the post, asking the question, “If it’s not scripted why is [sic] there cameras filming. The producers definitely found a way to make these men fight.”

In the comments, other fans agreed that the two men wouldn’t have taken jabs at each other without the producers telling them to. Meanwhile, other 90 Day Fiancé fans felt that the way Jovi stormed out of the bar was too dramatic. In fact, they believed the fight was staged to lead up to the intense drama of the Tell-All.
