Todd & Julie Chrisley Appeal Bank Fraud Charge, Claims Government Has No Witnesses

Todd and Julie Chrisley began the appeal process. The couple started by appealing their bank fraud charge. They claim the government has no witnesses. Keep on reading to learn more.

Todd & Julie Chrisley’s – Appeal Case

The Chrisley Knows Best stars started their appeal case. They have to appeal each of their charges, one by one. The 54-year-old husband and his 50-year-old wife hired defense attorney Alex Little from the legal firm Burr & Forman.

He will handle their appeal. Julie and Todd are hoping to overturn their combined 19-year prison sentences. Their daughter Savannah Chrisley has also been fighting on their behalf.

In November 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of a bank, tax evasion, and wire fraud scheme. Their trial lasted one month from May to June.

Todd is currently serving 12 years in a state prison in Florida, while Julie serving seven in Kentucky. In their appeal, they accused one of the investigators of having a “dartboard in his office” with their faces on it, per the court documents obtained by DailyMail.com.

The first charge they will appeal is bank fraud. The appeal states that there is “insufficient evidence of the bank fraud counts” and “procedural errors.”

They also claim the government has “no witnesses” of the banks they were accused of defrauding. Instead, the “government relied exclusively on the testimony of Mark Braddock,” which they claim provided a “sparse” testimony.

Little feels confident about the appeal. He believes this will get the Chrisleys out of prison. In his statement to DailyMail.com, he said: “The Chrisleys have an unusually strong case on appeal, and we are optimistic about our chances.” Little feels that his clients have a higher chance based on several factors. He didn’t reveal what those factors were.

Chrisley Knows Best – Fans React

Fans learned about Todd and Julie Chrisley’s appeal case on Reddit. They took to a thread titled “Appeal Process” to react. Some fans want to know how they plan to explain the fraud. The couple still conspired fraud together shortly after Todd’s former business partner Matt Braddock left.

However, other fans are skeptical. They don’t think anything will come out of this appeal case. One user wrote, “They will never get it.” Another one added, “It’s going nowhere.” A third chimed in, “Such a silly thread. They are not going anywhere. You don’t beat the feds. Ever.”
