Newman Media is confusing. It is about to become infused with the remnants of two other companies.

Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), who has only been in charge for a period that could be counted in weeks, will be replaced by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Victor is only partially choosing Nikki because she is his wife. The Moustache wants a seasoned hand and one that he can trust to lead this developing division of the worldwide corporate conglomerate.

So many characters have been connected to Newman Media within the last year plus. The volume of change has also increased in recent months.

Of course, anything that involves Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is chaotic. He would disagree by attempting to compare his business behavior to Victor’s in an attempt to justify his means to an end philosophy.

Adam is not comparable to Victor because he does not have the personal accomplishments his father does and also has not built and maintained a business from scratch.

Victoria wants full autonomy. In the back of her mind, she knows that is not possible. But she is playing the waiting game.

She has great leeway as Victor’s handpicked successor. But he became concerned earlier this year when he saw that her most recent romance left the company vulnerable to her distracted state.

Adam’s antics are good for Victoria because he draws most, but not all of Victor’s energy toward him. That allows scrutiny to not be fully on the Chief Executive Officer.

The implication is that his mind is always considering various moves and where all the real-life pieces fit.

Victor plans to organize the company in such a way that no one feels comfortable. The intent is to produce maximum effort aimed at long-term gain.

He knows that someday one or more of his family will have the final say. But until then he is the founder and reigning head of Newman Enterprises on Y&R.
