She also plans to retaliate, to varying appropriate degrees, against her enemies, when the seemingly inevitable legal clear comes.

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) tried to play nice for a while. But eventually, that veil dropped and then Phyllis framed her for murder.

Of course, Phyllis never died. She acquiesced to Jeremy’s plan that they frame Diane using the same playbook that was thrown at Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Diane got the guy. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was not interested in reconciling with Diane but then Walters’ character baited Phyllis.

Red made the mistake of responding to Diane’s provocation by convincing Jack that she wanted to return to having a romantic relationship with him. But bragging to Diane about that happening allowed Jack to overhear the truth.

The scorn inflicted upon Phyllis was a key turn that led Jack to eventually couple with Diane and restart a romance they exited decades ago. Diane has ridden high since.

Y&R Spoilers – Sharon Rosales Had To Weigh In

Phyllis remains the woman who injected herself into Sharon’s only marriage to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Hardcore fans can argue that is one of the more perplexing points in Y&R’s history, as countless couples have remarried across this iconic soap opera’s fifty years, but not Sharon and Nick.

Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) tragic passing led to unspeakable suffering. Nick could not handle his grief, and, in Sharon’s mind, Phyllis exploited it.

So, stopping by Phyllis’ table at Society and getting in a few digs about her legal predicament was a no-brainer for Sharon.

Branding herself the Phoenix and including that reference in the hotel she came to solely own was bold. Phyllis successfully remade her image and headed to a popular destination spot in the Midwest.

But Phyllis allowed herself to get carried away. Relentlessly pursuing Diane’s takedown was mindless, and destructive, and is the cause of the current legal mess.

When, not if, Phyllis gets herself out of this legal jam she will surely target Diane. She is reprisal candidate number one. But Sharon will be part of the scene at Newman Enterprises, no matter what building she, Nick, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) work from on Y&R.
