Y&R spoilers reveal that everyone was surprised by Nate and Victoria’s romance. Of course, it led to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) being betrayed by Nate all over again.

While it seems Elena is secretly getting her revenge, there are other storylines in motion. One had to do with everyone warning Victoria about her romance and pushing Nate up the corporate ladder.

Nikki interrogated Nate about his intentions. That led to some interesting statements from Nate.

Even though a lot of fans are disgusted by Nate, he did answer Nikki with total honesty. Nate admitted that he’s very career-oriented and hopes to run the company one day.

Nate did say he wanted to run the company with Victoria and not by himself, of course. Then, Nikki asked Nate if he loved Victoria. That forced Nate to think about Nikki’s question.

Nate was brutally honest when he confessed it was too soon to be exchanging the “L” word. While this might have been a risky answer, it was an honest one.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Nate already pitched the merger idea. Nate told Audra to just hang tight.

However, Audra’s desperation led her to make a bold move. Audra texted Nikki and asked to meet with her. Then, Audra pitched the exact same merger idea to Nikki. As Nate suspected, it sent off alarm bells with Nikki.

Now, Nikki is going to tell Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that both Nate and Audra are rats. This could force Nate to do some extreme damage control.

Nate might decide to protect everyone by making a huge career sacrifice. Nate could resign from Newman Enterprises. This might squash Victor and Nikki’s fear about the “rats” as well as prove Nate’s intentions with Victoria.

While it might earn the Newman family’s seal of approval, a similar situation happened with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). So, is Nate really proving himself to Victoria or is this just part of the end game?
