The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is starting a new life with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) or at least he thinks he is.

Morrow’s character paused before entering into a relationship with Sally because she was coming off a hard break from his brother.

Sally is not the first woman Nick and Adam have competed for. She is part of a group that includes Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), whom Nick just agreed to work with again, and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).

The late Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) was also someone who was tied to both brothers.

It seems that each time Nick and Adam vie for the same woman, they convince themselves that a different outcome will result.

Nick was Sharon’s first love. Chelsea first fell for Adam. Sage was with Nick but cavorted with Adam and that led to the birth of their son, Christian Newman (Alex Wilson), whom Grossman’s character has willingly allowed Nick to raise.

Sally was taken with Adam. But he dealt with her in the same harsh manner as he has the other characters who were mentioned. Sally’s heart was broken and then she and Nick became more than friends.

Nick got to a place in his personal life where he was ready for someone new. As was referenced, he gave Sally time and space so she could determine if Adam was in her past.

Sally convinced herself and Nick that Adam was someone she had to avoid. Then, during a brief break from Nick, she conceived Adam’s child.

The miscarriage of Ava Hope was deeply painful and served to reinforce the level of feelings Sally and Adam still share. Adam is willing to wait until she has Nick out of her system.

Adam is not known for patience. But he is confident that doing so will eventually allow Sally to see that he is the right man for her.

Nick’s return from a business trip will include learning that Adam kissed Sally outside her Genoa City Athletic Club suite. Adam will not be able to defend that action other than saying he drank too much champagne.

How Sally explains their dinner before the kiss and allows Adam to walk to the suite with her is yet to be seen. But how she handles the continued existence of her feelings for Adam is the deeper question on Y&R.
