The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) played a significant role in helping resolve the return of Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) anxiety issues.

And who would not be constantly anxious when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is your father?

Adam repressed his thoughts in recent months. While the topic of feelings has trended hard in recent years in Genoa City, Wisconsin, viewers know it is remiss to not state that a person’s logical thoughts help to shape what they are feeling about any situation.

Such was the case with Connor, who is a good young man. He cares about his dad but rightly senses that Adam has unresolved problems that reflect a mental imbalance. So, he wants to move away from the drama.

Adam challenged Connor’s desire to move in with his grandmother. Yes, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach) was a grifter.

Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) learned her stock in trade from her mom. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) utilized Chelsea’s skills, which is when Egan debuted on the show.

Billy (then played by Billy Miller) was targeted by Chelsea, who became pregnant with Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) when they were in Burma.

So, Adam’s comment about Chelsea’s mother is countered by Connor being influenced by Victor if he were to stay in town.

Chelsea made Adam see the daytime light when she reminded him that they had to do what was best for Connor.

She knows Adam is still enduring the pain of losing the daughter (Ava Hope) he and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) were expecting this year but does not want him to compensate by preventing Connor from going to a school of his choice that is out of town.

Devoted soap fans know that storylines are often used to promote various causes. Such was the case when Connor mentioned that he located a school near Anita that is for children, like him, who are dealing with emotional issues.

One of the more infamous storylines in show history had Adam (then played by Michael Muhney) hit Billy’s daughter, Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono).

But Adam did not initially know he did so and later kept that realization a secret from Billy and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) so Delia’s corneas could be transplanted into Connor, who inherited a genetic condition through Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman), Adam’s mother.

Billy is forever haunted by leaving Delia alone in his vehicle when going to get ice cream for her Halloween play party.

She left the car to let her dog, Dash, out and appeared to be hit by Adam’s sports utility vehicle after doing so.

Billy long projected blame onto Adam for his deficiency in that tragic regard.

Thompson’s character and Adam will never trust each other. But thankfully Adam was willing to see that Billy has Connor’s best interests at heart.

Adam may be trying to turn himself away from attacking others. He quickly dropped his protest of Connor wanting to leave Walnut Grove and GC and went along with what his son wanted, and Chelsea and Billy supported on Y&R.
