The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) was glad the man she has a deeper connection with than anyone in Los Angeles, California, responded. But the return of Jack Finnegan (Ted King) was not surprising to hardcore viewers.

Based on the profile shadow viewers saw, it was reasonable to believe Jack was the figure standing in the doorway. Sheila stood inside what appeared to be a visitor’s room at the prison.

It was curious that Sheila was not handcuffed. Possibly, Jack was responding as her attorney or Brown’s character told her jailers he was.

It just so happens that the father of Sheila’s baby is a criminal defense attorney. Viewers can ask themselves if that was referenced in past episodes.

Sheila used her knowledge of Jack’s specialty within the legal profession to her advantage. She also assessed that he was lonely after being forcibly split from his wife for more than a year.

The gist of Sheila’s pitch to Jack is that she gave him the greatest gift of his life. He asked her to relinquish their then-infant son, John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), to him decades ago. Doing so allowed him to keep his connection with her and Finn’s biology a secret from Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda).

Li is a recurring character whose backstory is mostly tied to Finn. Viewers recently saw her when she was visiting him at the cliff house.

Finn told the woman he thinks of as his only true mother that his wife, Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), was visiting Sheila. Li was stunned to learn that and questioned the need to do so.

So, the audience was prepared for what happened shortly thereafter. Sheila is attempting to exploit Jack and Li’s relationship as she did before.

Devoted fans know that Sheila has long arcs and then disappears for long stretches, sometimes meaning years. It appeared her recent arc wrapped, some goodbyes were had, and she might remain incarcerated indefinitely.

But Jack’s return means Sheila hopes to beat the murder rap she was recently charged with. King’s character will not be motivated by a sense of justice. Instead, obligation, guilt, and loneliness is driving him.

This next chapter of a continuing arc could play out for months. Sheila could be freed if Jack takes her case and wins it on B&B.
