Fans of Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown will no doubt be thrilled to hear that the crime drama has been renewed for a third season.

The series involves themes like corruption, systemic racism and inequality in a city ruled by gangs and prisoners.

It is also good news that Jeremy Renner returns in his role in the series after being involved in a life-threatening accident earlier this year.

Mayor of Kingstown renewed for season 3 on Paramount+

Known for Yellowstone and its many prequels and spinoffs, Taylor Sheridan’s work is well known and Paramount+ is officially the go-to network to watch the popular shows.

It was likely not surprising that Mayor of Kingstown was renewed for a third season as the show is popular.

However, with the ongoing WGA Writers’ strike and SAG-ASTRA actors’ strike, many shows are currently up in the air.

For those who are yet to watch Mayor of Kingstown, the series follows Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, patriarch of the McLusky family.

Meanwhile, the family works as power brokers and mediators in Kingstown, a city ruled by prisoners, gangs and those who are meant to uphold the law.

Moreover, Mayor of Kingstown has been lauded by critics and viewers alike for its themes of “systemic racism, corruption, and inequality.”

Reportedly, the crime drama series is among the highest-performing original dramas on Paramount+.

Other cast of the Taylor Sheridan series

According to the IMDb page, besides Renner, other cast members of Mayor of Kingstown include Dianne Wiest as Mariam McLusky, Hugh Dillon as Ian and Tobi Bamtefa as Deverin “Bunny” Washington.

Meanwhile, Taylor Handley plays Kyle McLusky, Hamish Allan-Headley plays Robert, and Derek Webster is Stevie.

Other regular cast members include Aidan Gillen and Milo Sunter, Nishi Munshi as Tracy McLusky, Nichole Galicia and Rebecca and Michael Beach as Kareem.

It is still unknown which cast members will return for season 3 but as the star of the show, Renner is surely going to be back.

As for those behind the scenes, Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, David Erickson and Regina Corrado act as executive producers of the show.

For those who haven’t yet watched Mayor of Kingstown, season 1 and season 2 are available to stream on Paramount+. Again, it is unknown when season 3 will premiere.

Readers can learn more about the renewal of the show for its third season and Jeremy Renner’s health in The Hollywood Reporter’s video below.
