On Saturday, Yellowstone fans were looking forward to seeing Taylor Sheridan and the shows biggest stars at PaleyFest. This was set to include Kevin Costner, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Bentley, Jacki Weaver and Gill Birmingham. In fact, fans were also promised that Sheridan and David Glasser would be around, along with what were termed “additional guests to be announced.” Sounds exciting, right? Except that it didn’t happen and there was no April Fool’s joke involved.

PaleyFest was on in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 1 and many Yellowstone fans had tickets to see their favorite stars. However, at the time set aside for Yellowstone, it seemed that the lineup had been changed. However, the website still listed all the stars and executive producers early on that day.

Meanwhile, at PaleyFest, episode 7 of season 5, titled The Dream Is Not Me, was screened. However, after enjoying the episode, fans were informed by a PaleyFest rep that the panel lineup had been changed due to “scheduling conflicts.”

According to Variety, the new panel lineup included Keith Cox, President of Scripted at MTV Entertainment Studios and cast members Dawn Olivieri (Sarah Atwood), Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry) and Josh Lucas (younger John Dutton), interviewed in the video below.

When the changes were announced, audience members gasped with shock, with some yelling, “Where are they?” during the panel. However, some did applaud the actors that were present at the event.

Bad timing for Yellowstone

At this time, controversy continues relating to rumors of Kevin Costner leaving and being replaced by Matthew McConaughey. It all started when news surfaced of Costner’s shooting schedule and the amount of time he wanted to be on set. The fact that Costner and Sheridan weren’t present at the event only feeds the rumors.

However, there was one good point on Saturday’s panel. When Keith Cox was asked about the status of talks with Costner, he referred to the actor as “our star, the face of our show, and the executive producer.” He went on to say that they are “very confident” that the Dances With Wolves actor will continue on Yellowstone. This led to strong applause from the PaleyFest audience.

Meanwhile, Cox teased that an announcement about ongoing production resuming will be coming soon. He added that the coming episodes “will be phenomenal. I am confident.”

Yellowstone fans will recall that in January, Kevin Costner won a Golden Globe in his role as John Dutton, but was unable to attend that ceremony due to flooding. He later posted a video to Instagram revealing his trophy after it arrived in the mail.

Hopefully, fans will get better news soon about when to expect part 2 of season 5 of Yellowstone.
