Squid Game Season 2 Premiere Date: New Netflix Episodes Coming?

When Squid Games hit Netflix in the United States, for some strange and unexpected reason, pandemic fatigued Americans fell in love with foreign suspense series featuring strangers literally fighting to the death for cold, hard cash.  We were all a bit twisted two years in to the pandemic, and Squid Games came along at the perfect time for a distraction from the current state of affairs.

Squid Games’ wild popularity on Netflix came as quite a shock, but no one was surprised when the streaming giant announced they were ordering Squid Games Season 2, and new episodes were in the pipeline.

So, when will Squid Games Season 2 hit Netflix?  So far, the cast and crew has not even begun filming new episodes, and word on the internet is that won’t even begin until late spring.  And, filming is really just the beginning of the production process.

Once the episodes are filmed, it could still take another six months before they are ready to stream.  With that being said, it could be well over a year before the Squid Games Season 2 premiere date, and we are predicting fall or winter of 2024.

Last month, Squid Games cast member Lee Jung-jae dished in an interview, “Squid Game 2 will begin filming in the summer and the filming will likely last for about 10 months. We were working on Season 1 for about 10 months as well, but that was with delays caused by [the global health crisis]. But seeing as Season 2 will be bigger in scale, it will probably take longer to complete.”
