Sister Wives: Why Did Janelle Brown Leave Kody?

Sister Wives spoilers reveal there will be a new season of the Brown Family on TLC.  The network confirmed Sister Wives Season 18 is happening, but there’s no news on an official premiere date yet.  rumor has it the show will return around September 2023.

Sister Wives fans are hoping that when the show returns they will get more answers about Janelle Brown, and what exactly happened that caused her to leave her husband Kody Brown.

Christine’s divorce announcement didn’t come as a surprise.  We all knew she was miserable and not getting the attention she thought she deserved from Kody.  Now, she has made it very clear that she is moving on, and is happily engaged to her new boyfriend David Woolley.

Meri Brown’s big divorce announcement got a collective eyeroll from fans.  We all knew her marriage to Kody was over years ago, in fact Kody even told her that, she was apparently the last to realize she was single and on the market.  Apparently, Meri Brown was the only one who hadn’t realized she was not married anymore.

But, Janelle Brown’s exit from Kody’s gang of wives confused us all a little.  Janelle never really expressed that she was unhappy with their family.  In fact, Janelle complained the least of all the wives and just seemed to be doing her own thing.  She was content with the family’s structure and what she was getting from Kody.  But, all that changed during COVID.

Why did Janelle Brown leave Kody?  Well, it turns out Janelle was faced with an impossible choice, her kids or her husband.  What started as a small disagreement over quarantining and COVID restrictions turned in to a full blown family war between Kody and the sons he shares with Janelle.  When the dust settled Janelle had to choose a side, and it was a no-brainer for her.
