Sister Wives: Janelle Brown And Meri – The Real Reason They Hate Each Other

Sister Wives Janelle and Meri Brown have never been super close.  In fact, Janelle Brown was always very easy-going on the TLC show, so it always surprised Sister Wives viewers when she lashed out at Meri and refused to interact with her or film with her.

Sure, TLC viewers have no real idea what goes on behind closed doors with the Brown Family.  But, it was adamant on Sister Wives over the years that Janelle and Meri had some issues that ran way deeper than bickering over their mutual husband Kody Brown.

Sister Wives Spoilers – Meri And Janelle Brown’s Real Beef

The Brown Family originated in Utah, the Polygamy capital of the country.  Kody Brown and his wives kept a tight-knit circle, and didn’t really associate with families outside of their religion.

So, it’s not surprising that some of Kody’s wives knew each other prior to marrying the Sister Wives star.  In fact, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown knew each other VERY well.

What new Sister Wives viewers don’t realize is that Janelle was married before she met Kody Brown, to a man named Adam Barber from 1988-1990.

Here’s where it gets interesting, Adam Barber is Meri’s BROTHER.  Interestingly, Meri and Kody got married in 1990, the same year Janelle left Adam Barber.  Then Janelle married Kody in 1993.

Call us crazy, but the math is not mathing.  It sounds like Meri brought home her new husband Kody, and her brother’s wife Janelle took a liking to him.  That would certainly explain the underlying animosity between Janelle and Meri for years.

Meri may have been all for getting sister wives and sharing her husband Kody, but the last thing she wanted was for her brother to get dumped in the process by Janelle.  Those must have been some very awkward holiday dinners.
