Recent episodes from TLC’s “Sister Wives” have shown viewers that the Brown patriarch Kody Brown has finally seen that he has lost his spot in his children’s lives, especially the children he shares with his ex-wives Christine Brown and Janelle Brown. Out of Kody’s 18 children, he’s closer to the five children he shares with his last and only remaining wife Robyn Brown.

The whole issue started with the way Kody treated his older children Paedon Brown, 25, Garrison, 25, Gabriel, 22, and Gwendlyn, 21, by not listening to their opinions after laying down his very strict rules during the covid_19 pandemic.
They all felt he played favoritism with Robyn and her children and have never failed to mention that. They also complain bitterly about Kody never being there for them when they need him to be the father figure in their lives.
The worst part was when he never showed up at Ysabel’s surgery and that was part of the driving force that pushed Christine to divorce him.
Sister Wives Spoilers — Christine And Janelle Brown “Hopes” The Children Reconcile With Kody Brown
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the former sister wives shared their desires for their children to find a way to reconcile with their absentee father Kody.
Christine shares six children Aspyn, 28; Mykelti, 27; Paedon, 25, Gwendlyn, 21, Ysabel, 20, and Truely, 13 with Kody. While Janelle also shares six children Logan, 29; Maddie, 27; Hunter, 26; Garrison, 25; Gabriel, 22, and Savanah, 18, with Kody.
In the interview with PEOPLE, Christine told the outlet, “I believe it will come around and eventually they’ll have [a] good relationship with their dad again. I have to believe that.”
Janelle told the outlet, “They started to bring up more and more feeling like he had chosen sides. So they started to really justify him being apart, because they felt like he was choosing one family over another.”
Christine, 51, recalled the conversation she had with daughters Gwendlyn and Ysabel, “There was one conversation where I had with Gwendlyn and Ysabel, and they were like, ‘Well, is dad going to be coming over?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, he’s going to come over. He loves you, he wants to be around you.'”
She continued, “And there was a look in their eyes and I’m like, ‘I don’t know. I just don’t know.’ And from that point on, they just understood that he had chosen to be somewhere else, and that was difficult.”
In Kody’s defense, Janelle said, “I can observe that Kody seems to have trouble relating to his older children and he seems to dote on the younger children. And when my children were younger, it was very easy for him to be a father, right, because he was still kind of this important [figure].”
She added, “He was important to them. His opinion mattered to them, his guidance mattered to them. And now, because they question a little bit, I think it might be harder for Kody to feel like he’s respected.”
