Prime Video has released a trailer for the upcoming limited series, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, starring Sigourney Weaver. The series features the Alien and Avatar actress playing a matriarch who protects her family’s secrets at all costs. Sigourney Weaver is a three-time Academy Award-nominated star best known for the movie franchises Alien and Avatar. However, Weaver has also had great success on television, including three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Prayers for Bobby, Snow White: A Tale of Terror and Political Animals.

More recent news is that Weaver is returning to television for the miniseries, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart on Prime Video. Meanwhile, a teaser trailer has been released for the miniseries which follows the story of Alice Hart.

After she loses her parents in a mysterious fire, Alice is taken to live with her grandmother, June (Weaver) on a flower farm in Australia. Once there, she learns shocking secrets about the family’s past. Meanwhile, Alice’s journey as she grows from her complicated past builds to an emotional climax when she finds herself fighting for her life against a man she loves.

Who else is on the cast of the Prime Video miniseries?

Besides Weaver, Alycia Debnam-Carey (Fear the Walking Dead) plays the titular character. Meanwhile, other stars include Asher Keddie, Alyla Browne, Frankie Adams, Leah Purcell, Charlie Vickers, Alexander England, Sebastian Zurita, Tilda Cobham-Hervey and Shareena Clanton.

Meanwhile, the limited series is based on Australian author Holly Ringland’s novel of the same name. It was adapted for the small screen by Sarah Lambert (Lambs of God). The series consists of seven episodes, directed by one of Australia’s leading directors, Glendyn Ivin.

As can be seen from the trailer, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart hails from the same producers behind the popular series, Nine Perfect Strangers and Big Little Lies. Moreover, the miniseries appears to be very much in the same vein as those limited series.

Meanwhile, the new series was filmed against the backdrop of Australia’s awe-inspiring scenery, with its native plants and wildflowers.

When does The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart premiere on Prime Video?

Prime Video will premiere the first three episodes of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart on Friday, August 4, 2023. The balance of the episodes will air weekly after that.
