During the trial, the court heard about the molestation from Bobye and Jim Holt. But, the new Amazon docuseries seems to bring some questions about how it went down.

Jim and Bobye Holt were friends of Jim Bob Duggar and they were all heavily involved in the church. If you are not aware, their daughter, Kaeleigh dated Josh when they were both teens. In fact, it looked like they were set on the path to marriage. Well, the story that TLC fans are familiar with was that allegedly, one of the daughters, either Jill or Jessa told their parents that Josh had been molesting them.

The reveal that Josh had done what he confessed to, was explained as him being counseled by a friend who would keep it in the family, so to speak. Apparently, Jim Bob invited the Holts over for a chit-chat about his son’s sins. Presumably, they were called in so they could explain why Kaeleigh should break things off with Josh. But did it actually happen like that?

According to spoilers by the Los Angeles Times, things might not be as they seem. In the episode, “Meet the Duggars,” a scene arrived where Jim and Bobye were talking about discovering that Josh had molested the sisters for three years or so. Judging by what they said, it seems that they possibly confronted Jim Bob rather than him calling them in.

In the scene from Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, the outlet cites Jim Holt as asking, “So, when were you gonna tell us?’ And Michelle says, ‘We weren’t gonna have them tell you guys at all. We were gonna have Josh confess to Kaeleigh once they were married.” So, that seems to raise a question or two.

The spoiler for Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets seems to suggest that Jim Bob wasn’t suddenly reaching for the phone when he found out that Josh’s activities were no longer a secret. Did someone else tell Jim Holt? Did their daughter discover it was happening? Or, did the fifth child, unnamed, and not in the family, finally confess what was going on?
