British Royal Family News says that it looks like some of the rumors were indeed true. Prince Harry admits that he and Meghan Markle did tell members of the royal family that they were pregnant with their first child during Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank back in 2018. However, he does insist that they weren’t trying to steal bride’s thunder on her very special day but instead just wanted to share their happy news with everyone. Here’s what you need to know.

In his book Spare, the Duke of Sussex says that while he and Meghan were trying to be discreet about their news, it was pretty obvious at that time that the Duchess of Sussex was pregnant and showing. Some things are just hard to hide, right? That’s why Harry and Meghan took some of their family members one by one and privately told them that they were expecting their first child together.

Recalling the moment he and Meghan told King Charles the big news, Harry wrote, “At Windsor, just before a drinks reception for the bride and groom, we cornered Pa in his study. He was sitting behind his big desk, which afforded his favorite view, straight down the Long Walk… He was delighted to learn that he was going to be a grandfather for a fourth time; his wide smile warmed me.”

Harry said that his brother Prince William also seemed delighted with the news. He said, “After the drinks reception, in St. George’s Hall, Meg and I pulled Willy aside. We were in a big room, suits of armor on the walls. Strange room, strange moment. We whispered the news, and Willy smiled and said we must tell Kate. She was across the room, talking to [her sister] Pippa. I said we could do it later, but he insisted. So we went and told Kate and she also gave a big smile and hearty congratulations. They both reacted exactly as I’d hoped — as I’d wished.”

Harry also added that he and Meghan were “deliriously happy” for Eugenie and Jack and that their wedding was the reason why they delayed their first state trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji by a couple days.
