Royal Family News: King Charles Doesn’t Want His Grandson Archie To Inherit The Duke Of Sussex Title?

Royal Family News suggests that King Charles supposedly doesn’t want his grandson Archie to inherit the Duke of Sussex title from his father, Prince Harry.

While Charles did give his brother Prince Edward the Duke of Edinburgh title, he did say that the title would be returned to the monarch following Edward’s death rather than be given to his son. And apparently, King Charles wants to do the same with Harry’s title, too. Here’s what you need to know.

While on the Palace Confidential talk show, royal commentator Richard Eden said that King Charles is taking steps to make sure that Archie doesn’t inherit his father’s royal title. He put it this way, “I have heard it said that part of the reason is that the King wants to stop Archie from inheriting that title of the Duke of Sussex. So this might be part of that, so he has now set that precedent. The problem is, that he’d have to do it with all the royal dukes so he really wouldn’t want to do that to the very well-respected Dukes of Gloucester and Kent.”

Of course, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not made any comments about this matter, however, it was announced earlier in the month that their two children were finally recognized with their proper titles on the official website. Archie’s name is now Prince Archie of Sussex while his little sister is Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

Royal Family News: What’s Next For The Sussexes?

Whether or not Archie does inherit his father’s title remains to be seen, but seeing how Harry and Meghan have moved on from their royal lives, it’s doubtful that it will matter much to them down the road. Harry even said in one of his recent interviews that at this point the royal titles aren’t making much of a difference for him or his family.
