Instead, the Princess of Wales wants to take a more realistic approach as she doesn’t think it’s necessary for her children to have a “normal” childhood, seeing how they are three children with anything but normal backgrounds, family, and titles. Instead, Kate is raising Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to understand where their places in the world will be in their futures. According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Kate Middleton thinks that Princess Diana’s way of bringing up her boys might have caused some internal issues that can still be both heard and seen between William and Harry to this very day.
At least, that’s what Quinn believes. He said, “Kate makes no effort – unlike Diana – to bring the children down to earth, because she doesn’t want them to have a normal childhood in the sense that Diana wanted it for William and Harry.”
As many royal fans can recall, it was Diana who tried to make William and Harry’s childhoods as normal as possible by taking them to the movies and fast food joints, despite the fact that her elder son would one day become the King of England. Quinn recalled, “Diana enjoyed slumming it and was in many ways downwardly mobile – she wanted to escape her aristocratic childhood. Kate wants to escape her middle-class childhood.”
However, Kate is definitely no Princess Diana, or at least not when it comes to her parenting style. Quinn said, “She dislikes burgers and chips and wouldn’t dream of taking her children to McDonald’s, and she doesn’t rock the boat when the vast weight of traditional royal pursuits bears down on her children.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
