No matter what she does or what she says, it seems like Sarah Ferguson just can’t catch a break. There’s a new report that suggests the Duchess of York is being criticized for going on the record to defend her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Just recently, the Duchess of York went on Good Morning Britain and said that Prince Andrew is a “kind, good man” despite all of the sexual assault accusations that were made against him. As many royal fans probably already know, the Duke of York has done nothing more than generate bad headlines ever since he was accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre. If that weren’t enough, she also said that her ex “is a very good grandfather” and “a kind food man,” and added that, ”The spotlight needs to come off him to let him get on with his life.”

But royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says that if there’s one thing that Sarah should be doing right now, it’s keep quiet. She’s doing herself and her ex Andrew no favors by speaking so much about him in public.

In an interview with Entertainment Daily, Fitzwilliams put it this way, “Sarah Ferguson has indeed remained close to Prince Andrew and cohabits with him despite being divorced. They seem extremely happy together and are a close-knit family with their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie and their children. Sarah Ferguson gives endless interviews and is always supportive of Andrew, but some of them have been embarrassing.”

He continued, “She has not been asked to the Coronation which seems to me a wise decision. Normally Beatrice and Eugenie might be asked to carry out more royal engagements as there are fewer working royals but the York brand is still toxic.”

So far Sarah Ferguson has not made any comments about the criticism although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space.
