Fans would likely be thrilled if Bones and Booth were back in action in a revival of the series. While it could be “complicated” to revive Bones, the series creator Hart Hanson has there is a possibility. Speaking to Variety, he said, “Maybe we should do it again.”
Hart Hanson teases revival of Bones
According to Hart Hanson, a revival of Bones is a possibility. Speaking of Emily Deschanel, who played Bones and David Boreanaz who played Booth, Hanson explained that they are in contact with each other.
Hanson and the cast members and creatives from Bones reunited for a WGA picket at Fox Studios. He said:
Everybody on Bones is in contact with each other. At separate times, it’s like, ‘What are you doing? What’s the availability?’
However, Hanson told Variety that a possible revival would be complicated, saying, “Fox broadcast Bones, but Disney now bought 20th, so they own [the show].”
“It would take a million agents and lawyers to figure out who owns what and what platform it would show on,” he explained.
‘Maybe we should do it again’
Despite the possible complications, Hanson stressed that the former Bones stars are still in touch. He said that every once in a while, they are all nostalgic enough to think “Maybe we should do it again.” Meanwhile, Hart added, “Who knows? Maybe this will bump-start us.”
However, the possibility of a revival of the show would depend on Bones Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz both being up for the revival. Forensic anthropologist Temperance “Bones” Brennan and FBI agent Seeley Booth would have to both return. The show’s creator stressed, “Without both of them, no.”
Meanwhile, Hanson said they have heard that the duo might be game for the revival, saying, “The actors are going to say the truth, which is it depends on what it is, the scripts, what it looks like if it feels right,” adding:
They’re not going to do something just because it’s us.
