Princess Kate Won’t Offer Prince Harry Any Olive Branches This Christmas

The peacemaker of the family is bowing out. And can you blame her? Yes, once upon a time she and Harry shared a close bond, but he’s made it clear that the right price can make him hurt the people closest to him. And Kate’s one of those people he’s hurt.

Princess Kate Won’t Make “First Move” To Heal Rift With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

It appears that the Sussexes are going to be celebrating this Christmas apart from the rest of the royal family, without all the fanfare that last year’s celebration solicited, that is.

Kate is also done being a go-between for the warring brothers, and at the moment, none of the parties have reached out to the other to establish communications. According to a close friend to William, Harry’s memoir “Spare” was the last straw.

In an exclusive interview with Fabulous, Royal commentator Jennie Bond said: “Catherine was deeply hurt by some of the things Harry said about her, particularly in his book, and unfortunately because of these entrenched positions where neither side seems to want to make contact or the first move, I can’t see this rift healing any time soon.”

Bond added, “Catherine has played the peacemaker in the past and has brought William and Harry together, and I think that comes from her own family, and their values. But I think she has got to a stage whereby she has had to take a step back, things have gone too far, and she feels upset and, quite frankly, hurt and insulted.”

In Harry’s memoir, he recounted an experience where the then-pregnant Kate was “disgusted” that Meghan would use her lip gloss. He also went on to detail the much-talked about row between Kate and Meghan, which happened just before their 2018 wedding.

The couple first hinted that the press got the story wrong in their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

During the interview, they claimed that Kate made Meghan cry, instead of the other way around as reported, as a result of a dispute over bridesmaids’ dresses.

Even though months have passed since the memoir dropped, nothing has changed in the relationship between the Sussexes and the Waleses. Bond believes Kate was also particularly hurt when Harry portrayed her as “cold” and “standoffish” in his memoir.

She said: “I think Catherine was hurt by Harry (and Meghan’s) claim that she made Meghan cry during a fitting for Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress, and again by Meghan’s view, which was relayed by Harry, that she found Catherine and William standoffish, a bit cold, when they first met. After all, we have seen that Catherine is more than ready to give people a hug – even people she has no connection with and will never see again.”

Bond noted, “We must remember that Harry once described Catherine as the sister he never had. Now it seems she is the sister in law he no longer wants to see.”

Perhaps it’s a lot better for the brothers to walk different paths for a while.
