Princess Kate Delivers Poignant Christmas Message At Carol Service

Princess Kate made the season that much brighter with her Christmas message of hope and new beginnings. The royal delivered the message at her third annual Together at Christmas concert.

This year, invitees were thrilled by performances from the Westminster Abbey choir, Freya Ridings and James Bay, and a duet from Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert.

It was indeed a glorious night, with guests praising the service, and on Dec. 24, fans will get to watch it when it airs on ITV.

Kate Middleton Explains Christmas As the Celebration of Birth

As the final preparations for Together at Christmas came together, the Princess of Wales recorded a video message on the importance of the season.

In the video, shot in November, the Princess said, “Christmas is a time when we come together and celebrate the birth of a newborn baby,” Kate said, in a special introduction to the concert, which took place at Westminster Abbey.

“The arrival of every baby is a precious and momentous time, it brings us together to reflect on new beginnings and brings hope for the future. Throughout our earliest interactions, relationships and experiences, with those who love us, even before we are born, we lay the foundations to so much of what that future will depend on,” she added.

She then advised adults to acknowledge the vital role they play in a child’s development.

“And so tonight’s guests have been invited in recognition of their support of our youngest children, as we shine a spotlight on the critical role they play in nurturing and raising the future generation,” Kate said, bringing to the spotlight her “Shaping Us” organization that aims to provide care and teach about the importance of a child’s earliest years.

Rounding up, she thanked all those involved in making a child’s life magical, valued and loved, from “parents and carers, to early educators, midwives, health visitors and community volunteers.”

She further shared her hopes that the future will be a “happier, healthier, fairer” one for all children.

“I do hope you enjoy this evening and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas,” the mother of three concluded.
