Prince William Would Rather Spend Time With His Kids Than Work

Prince William doesn’t want to make the same mistakes that his father made and that’s why he’s doing things just a little bit differently. There’s a new report that suggests the Prince of Wales is more of a hands-on father than his own dad, King Charles, ever was and that he doesn’t want to be the same workaholic his father was, too. Here’s what you need to know.

Prince William Would Rather Spend Time With His Kids Than Work

Apparently, Prince William knows that life is too short to spend it working all the time and that’s why he would rather spend as much time as possible with his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

He doesn’t want to live with the same regrets that King Charles probably has about not spending enough time with him and his young brother, Prince Harry.

Former Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond put it this way, “With the late Queen’s ailing health, William probably had to step up to his full time royal job quicker than he might have hoped, but you can see now how committed he is.

However, I also very much admire the fact that he’s not a workaholic like his father, he knows how important family life is… He seems to be a full on, hands-on, caring dad.”

Did King Charles Neglect His Family?

Several years ago Prince William did touch on his relationship with his father in a BBC documentary.

When asked about how he spends quality time with his dad, the Prince of Wales said at the time, “It’s something I’m working more heavily on, put it that way. I think he does have time for it, but I would like him to have more time with the children.”

William continued, “Now he’s reached his 70th year it’s a perfect time to consolidate a little bit because, as most families would do, you are worried about having them around and making sure their health’s OK – and he’s the fittest man I know but equally I want him to be fit until he’s 95.”
