Prince William Returns To the Streets Of London To Sell The Big Issue

Prince William and vendor Dave Martin continued a Christmas tradition by selling the Big Issue to surprised London shoppers on Dec. 5.

It’s Prince William’s promise to find homes for homeless people, and he’s doing it in both the big and small ways. Now, that’s a mother’s son right there.

Prince William Was “Concerned” About the Homeless People

In June 2022, William surprised royal fans when he hit the streets of London in plain jeans and sold copies of The Big Issue to raise money and awareness for the condition of homelessness.

On Tuesday, the Prince of Wales returned on the streets with pal Dave Martin at a Tesco grocery in Hammersmith, a borough west of London. Sales of The Big Issue go towards benefiting unhoused and vulnerable people who can’t afford the basic comforts.

“Great to be back with Dave, selling the latest edition of the @BigIssue once again! Find your nearest vendor this festive season,”

William’s PR Team Shared On His And Wife Princess Kate’s Joint Account On X.

The post carried a sweet picture of William, 41, posing with Martin in a red baseball cap and vest branded with The Big Issue logo.

Speaking on the reunion, Martin told The Big Issue that it was “very nice” to see him again.
“It was surreal, but he was so friendly. He was concerned about me and about the homeless people,” he said. ”There were good vibes from everyone — it’s been a great day.”

Martin also shared that he and William have stayed in touch since their first meeting, even exchanging Christmas cards last year and today.

William has made homelessness a key focus of his philanthropic works, alongside environmental preservation and mental health.

When he was young, his mother took him to meet homeless people and to sympathize with their condition.

To William, the issue of homelessness is “solvable” and he plans to convert some of the lands under the Duchy of Cornwall to a shelter for the homeless.
