Prince Harry‘s “Heart of Invictus” is finally getting a release date after months of anticipation.
The making of the documentary was announced shortly after the couple signed a deal with Netflix to produce educative and entertaining content that families will enjoy.
At some point, it looked as if Netflix would back down on making the “Heart of Invictus” documentary, but both parties were able to sort out their differences to see this through.
According to Netflix, “Heart of Invictus” will be arriving this August 30. The news was soon followed by the release of a trailer, which for some reason, was promptly deleted.
What We Know About Harry’s “Heart Of Invictus” Documentary
The “Heart of Invictus” will focus on the Invictus Games and the stories of the veterans who partake in those games.
It will understandably take on an inspirational tone, as the competitors reveal how the sporting events help them to deal with stress and any mental challenges they may face.
While Harry isn’t the first to think up the novel idea of making a competition series that is open to only wounded veterans, he can at least be credited for raising further awareness on the importance of the Games.
This September, Harry and Meghan will travel to Germany to participate in the games. It expected that the couple will deliver the closing speech as they did last year.
In a recorded video message earlier this month, Harry congratulated the athletes for being part of the games, which he hopes will be “the best games ever.”
“You’re all on different parts of your healing journey,” Harry, 38, said, adding, “We all are – we always will be.”
Laughing, he continued: “Good luck for the remaining few weeks, have fun, look forward to it. Being nervous is a good thing.
We have 21 nations this year and can’t wait to have every continent represented. Except Antarctica – but still working on that.”
The documentaries will follow the former servicemen and women – injured while serving their country either in a physical or psychological manner – as they prepare to compete in the International Sporting event the Invictus Games.
Harry serves as an executive producer on the series.
