The romantic book, titled “Meet Me At the Lake,” is about a couple who meet in their 30s and fall in love over shared tragedies.

And if you ever get the idea that the novel isn’t worth its deal price, just know that it shifted 39,000 copies in the first week of its release in May alone, with its topics touching on childhood trauma over losing a parent in a car crash, mental health and post-natal depression.

It is set near Toronto in Canada, where Meghan happens to be living when she started dating Harry.

There’s also some steamy sex scenes and drug use, so the production is going to be definitely aimed at a mature audience.

Buying the rights to the book is the first sign that the couple won’t be letting their Spotify deal cancellation beat them down.

It also marks the first time Archewell Productions has paid to turn a novel into a fictional drama as part of their Netflix deal reported to be worth £80million.

This is coming after the couple revealed that they won’t be making any more royal content because “there is nothing left to say.”

Why Harry And Meghan Picked “Meet Me At The Lake” For Production

Apart from the easily noticeable parallels between the book and Harry and Meghan’s real life experiences, the themes of the novel was a major reason the couple determined that it was something they wanted.

An insider said: “The themes of the book gripped the couple and it was chosen for their first adaptation with Netflix.”
