As Yellowstone fans know so well, part 2 of season 5 was delayed and will be airing in November this year. In the meantime, fans have received the bad news that the fifth season will be the last of the hit modern Western series. Even worse, reportedly, Kevin Costner, who plays patriarch John Dutton will not appear in the final episodes. Paramount Network obviously knows how fed up fans are with all the ongoing drama over the series and they are trying to make it up to fans by hosting a Yellowstone marathon.

Part 1 of season 5 left fans as Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley) declared war on either other. Since that time, the drama has been never-ending in the headlines about Kevin Costner wanting to reduce his shooting time on the series. In the end, it was reported that the Dances with Wolves star won’t return to the series. All this while the show’s mid-season hiatus seemed to go on forever.

Meanwhile, one month after part 2 of Yellowstone season 5 finally airs in November, a sequel series is set to premiere with Matthew McConaughey in the lead rather than Costner.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Paramount Network president, Chris McCarthy, said in a statement at the time:

Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits, from 1883 to Tulsa King, and I am confident our Yellowstone sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life.

To try and keep fans happy, Paramount Network has announced a Yellowstone marathon for the 4th of July weekend. Starting at 8 pm ET/PT, the network will air all five (well, four-and-a-half) seasons of the hit drama. Meanwhile, fans will get to binge on the Dutton family drama, the ranch’s employees and those who seem determined to take the land from under their feet.

After Friday’s launch, the marathon will continue from 11 am on Saturday and Sunday, and 12 pm on Monday and Tuesday (all times ET/PT).

Readers, do you think that by bingeing all episodes so far of Yellowstone will keep fans happy until part 2 of season 5 finally airs? Meanwhile, are you excited at the thought of a new Yellowstone spinoff with Matthew McConaughey in the lead? Let us know by dropping a comment below.
