Bridgerton fans have been looking forward to the return of the Netflix series since it was renewed for a third season. Finally, Netflix has released a premiere date for the period drama, which will air in two parts in the spring. Meanwhile, a trailer has also been released to cheer up fans who have waited impatiently for Bridgerton to return.
Netflix announces premiere date for Bridgerton season 3
A return date has finally been announced for the third season of Bridgerton, which will air in two parts in 2024. Moreover, the Shondaland show will apparently be “ultra-sexy.” Meanwhile, part 1 will air on May 16, while part 2 is set to premiere on June 13. The season will feature a total of eight episodes.
According to Deadline, the synopsis of the third season of Bridgerton will see Penelope finally giving up on her long-time crush on Colin after hearing his disparaging words about her in season 2. Instead, she has decided it’s time to take a husband preferably one that will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far from her mother and sisters.
However, and as previously announced, season 3 will follow the budding romance between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), dubbed by fans as #Polin. Meanwhile, Penelope is lacking in confidence as she fails spectacularly on the marriage mart. As for Colin, he has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger.
However, Colin is disheartened to find Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is now giving him a cold shoulder. Meanwhile, in an effort to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor her in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband. When his lessons begin to work a little too well, Colin must try to grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly “just friends.”
Meanwhile, Penelope has complicated matters even more due to her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie). She has found a new friend in an unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the Ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown person a secret.
Titles for the season 3 episodes
Last year, Tudum revealed the title of the first episode – Out of the Shadows – along with an opening narrated by Lady Whistledown (Julie Andrews). When speaking of episode 301 she told fans:
Dearest gentle reader, we’ve been apart for far too long. At last, London’s smart set has made its return, and so too has this author. As the season begins, the question on everyone’s mind, of course, is, which newly minted debutante will shine the brightest. The crop this year proves to be rather dazzling indeed. Unfortunately, not every young lady can attract the light.
As a reminder, part 1 of Bridgerton season 3 will stream on May 16, while part 2 lands on Netflix on June 13. In the meantime, fans can enjoy a trailer for the third season here.
