Netflix has made Alice in Borderland fans very happy by releasing a teaser for season 3 on social media. Yes, the streamer’s most-watched Japanese title is back for a third season. Late on Wednesday, Netflix dropped a teaser on Instagram, as well as a more definitive teaser on X (previously known as Twitter) definitely confirming that it has renewed the sci-fi thriller drama again.

However, as Netflix releases a teaser for the third season of Alice in Borderland on Instagram and X more confirmation is out. Speaking at the APOS entertainment and media industry conference in Bali, Indonesia, the news was made official by Minyoung Kim. Netflix’s vice president of content in Asia Pacific made the announcement during a keynote talk from the stage.

Alice in Borderland rose to become Netflix Japan’s most-watched title ever after season 2 debuted in December 2022. In fact, the sci-fi thriller soon reached the Top 10 in more than 90 countries, taking the No. 1 spot in 17 countries and clocking an amazing 200 million viewer hours worldwide.

So far, we know that Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya will reprise their roles as Arisu and Usagi in season 3. Meanwhile, fans have plenty to look forward to as their characters evolve in the ever-more-dangerous landscape of Borderland. Meanwhile, Shinsuke Sato continues to direct the series, ensuring that it maintains its trademark aesthetic and intensity.

With Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi in Season 3, Netflix says fans can look forward to witnessing the evolution of their characters in the ever-dangerous landscape of Borderland. As noted by Variety, Netflix said director Shinsuke Sato will also continue helming the series, “ensuring that the series maintains its trademark intensity and cinematic excellence.”

Alice in Borderland is based on the manga series of the same name by Haro Aso. The series follows the story of Arisu as he is transported into a parallel universe. Here, he has to play and win games in order to stay alive. Moreover, the games are split into four categories and are represented by suites on a deck of playing cards.

Season 2 introduced new cast members, including Yuri Tsunematsu as Heiya, Tomohisa Yamashita as “King of Clubs” Kyuma, Kai Inowaki as Matsushita, Hayato Isomura as Banda, Katsuya Maiguma as Yaba, and Honami Sato as Kotoko.

Meanwhile, the second season ending with a cliffhanger involving the Joker card, has fans speculating about the upcoming season. Moreover, the teaser posted by Netflix clearly reveals that particular card from the pack.
