Netflix has released its first trailer for season 6 of Black Mirror, set to premiere in two weeks. From that trailer, it can be seen that season 6 has a star-studded cast, including Salma Hayek, Annie Murphy, Aaron Paul and more. Fans have been waiting for this for a long time and the trailer hints a little of each trippy story, only wetting our appetites for more.
The sixth season of Charlie Brooker’s dark Netflix anthology is coming soon and promises to be not only as good as previous seasons but possibly better than ever.
Meanwhile, the trailer reveals five original stories in what the streamer calls “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected” season yet. Moreover, in the trailer, we see Salma Hayek, Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Danny Ramirez, Ben Barnes, Michael Cera, Himesh Patel and more. It looks like this great lineup of stars will keep us on the edge of our seats during each episode of Black Mirror season 6.
It is almost four years ago on June 5, 2019, that season 5 aired with only three episodes. Meanwhile, shortly before that, Charlie Brooker released the interactive movie, Bandersnatch, which aired to critical acclaim. The fact that fans have to wait so long between seasons only goes to prove the effort it takes to produce these dark stories.
In Netflix’s trailer for Black Mirror season 6, fans get a sneak peek into the five episodes as follows:
In the episode Joan is Awful, which stars Salma Hayek and Annie Murphy, we see an average woman discovering a new, global streaming platform, called Streamberry. That obvious spoof of Netflix itself reveals that the streamer has launched a television adaption of her life, where she is played by Hollywood star Salma Hayek. The episode also stars Ben Barnes, Michael Cera, Himesh Patel and Rob Delaney.
In this episode, a young couple travels to a town in Scotland to make a nature documentary, but find themselves drawn into a juicy local story about shocking events of the past. Loch Henry stars Daniel Portman, Monica Dolan, John Hannah, Samuel Blenkin and Myha’la Herrold.
The episode Beyond the Sea is set in space during an alternative 1969. The story features two men on a perilous high-tech mission who struggle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy. Meanwhile, this episode stars Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Auden Thornton, Rory Culkin and Kate Mara.
This episode of Black Mirror reveals a troubled starlet, recently ousted from her movie set. She finds herself stalked by paparazzi while struggling to deal with the consequences of a hit-and-run accident. Mazey Day stars Clara Rugaard, Danny Ramirez and Zazie Beetz.
The fifth episode, Demon 79 is set in northern England in 1979. Meanwhile, according to the story, a sales assistant is told that she must commit terrible acts to prevent a disaster. This episode stars Anjana Vasan and Paapa Essiedu.
Fans will be able to stream all five episodes of Black Mirror season 6 on Netflix on June, 15, 2023. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer here:
