The family attended her funeral service. Barbara, known as Babs, passed away on December 7, 2022, from cerebral amyloid angiopathy.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life premiered on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. During the premiere, fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay their respects to Barbara. Other fans shared their condolences with Whitney Way Thore and her family.

Back in December 2022, Whitney shared the devastating news of her mom’s passing. She shared footage of her with her mom over the years. Whitney also wrote a heartfelt tribute to Babs.

“We see a whole new side of Glenn Thore,” Whitney told People. “He is no longer Glenn Thore, he’s rebranded as GT and he’s a whole new man.”
