Most Soapy Reunion Of 2023: The Bold And The Beautiful’s Steffy And Finn

The Bold And The Beautiful - Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)The Bold and the Beautiful is a soap that recycles the same stories over and over again and often makes us like we’re watching the same plots play out year after year with the same exact people. When it finally does something different, we definitely sit up and take notice — and when it reminds us of soaps from yesteryear, we notice it more.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Orders Up A Gruesome Tale

Nobody expected to see Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and her husband John ‘Finn’ Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) laying in a pool of blood on April 1 and hoped it was just an April Fool’s Day joke, but crazy Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) really did shoot her son and his wife and left them both for dead. Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) found them, but it looked like it was too late for Finn. He was gone.

Thankfully, Steffy was saved and her subsequent amnesia only lasted a few episodes. She was devastated to learn that Finn was dead and left town to mourn him in Europe. Yes, it was all just a plot device to give Jacqueline MacInnes Wood her third maternity leave in a little over three years, but it worked.

B&B Spoilers – Location And Sweeping Romance Make This Plot A Winner

We knew there had to be a twist to this story and soon we began suspecting that Finn was still alive and his adoptive (real) mother Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) had him and that’s exactly what we got. We learned that Li could be as fierce as Sheila and a real match for the sociopath who shot her son. Li even survived when Sheila ran her car into the ocean.

Eventually, Finn woke up, miraculously recovered, and took off to Monte Carlo to find his unsuspecting wife. It felt like the old location shoots of the 1980s and 1990s when we saw the stunning scenery and Steffy notice Finn while standing outside an old and picturesque church. Her shock and joy at seeing him were palpable and we knew that this is what soaps are made of.

If only all soaps had the budget to go on location in 2022 (and we are not talking about a California beach doubling for a Florida beach, a la General Hospital), we can see sweeping romance with such a backdrop once again. Stay tuned to The Bold and the Beautiful weekdays to see if the soap gets to travel for a love story again.
