Manifest Star Melissa Roxburgh To Guest Star In Quantum Leap Season 2

Manifest star Melissa Roxburgh knows a thing or two about solving callings, but now she is set to guest star in season 2 of Quantum Leap. The news was announced during a panel for the series at San Diego Comic-Con that Roxburgh would feature in the premiere episode on NBC this fall. Meanwhile, other guest stars appearing in the second season of Quantum Leap have been revealed.

Melissa Roxburgh to guest star in Quantum Leap season 2

Best known for her role as Mick Stone in Manifest, Melissa Roxburgh will join several other guest stars on the NBC show. The premiere episode of Quantum Leap season 2 will also feature Aaron Abrams (Hannibal), Francois Arnaud (Midnight Texas) and P.J. Byrne (Shazam! Fury of the Gods). Meanwhile, the first eight minutes of the premiere episode were screened at SDCC, but this won’t be available online for now.

According to Deadline, the premiere episode sees Roxburgh playing the role of a member of the airforce, tasked with transporting a mystery crate to New Delhi. However, trouble arises when their aircraft is shot down prior to arriving at its destination. While the contents of the crate aren’t revealed in the first eight minutes, it is clear that it will be something very important.

More big names coming to the series

Speaking to SyFy Wire, Producer Martin Gero said, “It’s coming along great,” and went on to tease big names yet to be announced for the series, adding:

It’s fantastic, the season premiere is maybe our biggest episode yet. It feels ginormous, and is really fun. We’ve been able to get some phenomenal guest cast for Season 2 that we’re not ready to announce yet. It’s bigger and bolder and feels more emotional and fun.

The revived Quantum Leap serves as a continuation of the previous series, starring Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett. Meanwhile, Raymond Lee plays Ben Song, a physicist working on Quantum Leap. As with Dr. Beckett, he finds himself leaping from one body to another, in different eras of time, unable to return home.

Besides Lee, the show features Caitlin Bassett, who plays the role of Addison Augustine, who virtually accompanies Song on his missions. It also stars Nanrisa Lee, Mason Alexander Park, Ernie Hudson, Georgina Reilly, Susan Diol and Walter Perez. Previous guest stars in season 1 of Quantum Leap included Robert Picardo, Brandon Routh and Deborah Ann Woll.

Quantum Leap season 2 premieres on October 4, 2023, on NBC.
