Love & Translation: TLC’s Latest Dating Show With A Language Barrier [TRAILER]

As fans of 90 Day Fiancé, Sister Wives and more know, TLC is always pushing the barriers of love and Love & Translation is its latest release.

This new reality dating show brings single women from around the world into one luxurious villa with three hunky bachelors.

The main problem is that none of the 12 women speaks a word of English, so communication is difficult, to say the least. Read on to find out what we know so far about Love & Translation, the latest reality dating show from TLC.

Love & Translation sees 12 women and 3 bachelors with a language barrier

TLC has released a trailer for its newest reality dating show, Love & Translation. This upcoming series sees single women from around the world entering a luxurious villa with three handsome, American bachelors.

All the women are keen to marry an American, but there is a problem, as not one of them speaks a word of English.

Airing on January 21, 2024, the group of 12 single women from different countries, arrive at the villa, looking for American love.

On arrival, they meet three hunky bachelors, Kahlil, 24, from Texas, Tripp, 30, from California and Dylan, 21, from Florida. Judging from the trailer, all three men seem surprised to discover that they can’t communicate with the women.

In the trailer for Love & Translation, one Spanish-speaking woman asks where the men hail from, to which Kahlil replies, “Say what?”

However, while the women don’t share a language, they all have the same goal of finding love. Judging from the trailer, the men have no idea of the difficulty they would face in communicating with the women.

The trailer reveals that the contestants have no translator to use for help, while in the clip, contestants make different noises to explain their interests and other biographical details.

Airi, 20, hails from Japan, and tells the camera, “I was born to be loved,” adding, “And I was born to love another person.”

Another woman speaks about the men in Spanish, saying, “I think American men are gentlemen. They treat women very well.”

Drama on Love & Translation

While the language barrier is difficult, it is clear that it cannot stop reality TV contestants from bringing plenty of drama and chemistry to the show. As the trailer continues, some kisses and romantic dates are revealed. However, the tide turns when some women criticize the bachelors, especially Leidi, 28, from Colombia who says she feels “humiliated.”

Meanwhile, Dylan also seems to have second thoughts with one of the women. “I’m not gonna [sic] call it a mistake, but it’s a decision that I made and that I have to deal with,” he says with tears in his eyes.

Moreover, the trailer ends with Gisele, 29, from Brazil, saying, “Don’t talk to me anymore!” apparently to one of the bachelors, before she slams a door and leaves.

Speaking of the new reality show, Warner Bros. Discovery made a statement:

With challenges that include utilizing the five senses such as uninterrupted eye gazing and pheromone attraction tests, as well as adrenaline-pumping group date activities, these singles will try to learn about each other without the gift of language.

And if the singles aren’t feeling that loving feeling with anyone, they can pack up their bags and look for love elsewhere.
