King Charles‘ Christmas message is a continuation of the legacy he wants to leave behind: a Britain that acknowledges everyone regardless of their race or religion and public service.
Despite the year starting off with a lot of controversies – Prince Harry dropped his “Spare” in January – the King brushed it off to focus on the people who are doing gracious and praise-worthy works for their communities.
King Charles’ Christmas Message Is Laden With Praise For Services Offered To the Less Fortunate
In his second annual Christmas message, King Charles III reflected on the meaning of Christmas and the self-less life lived by Jesus Christ. He also acknowledged the goodness that is in caring for those who are less fortunate.
“My heart has been warmed by countless examples of the imaginative ways in which people are caring for one another, going the extra mile to help those around them simply because they know it is the right thing to do,” he said.
He further highlighted his desire to be a King that serves every faith, and not just Christianity, in the message.
His May coronation pointed to this when he invited religious leaders of different faiths to take part in the day that had all the trappings of pomp and pageantry.
“To care for this creation is the responsibility owned by people of all faiths and of none,” he said. “We care for the Earth for the sake of our children’s children.”
He also touched on the wars that increasingly inflict pain and sorrows on so many, adding that we should endeavor to do unto others as we would have them do to us.
“They remind us to imagine ourselves in the shoes of our neighbors and to seek their good as we would our own,” he said. “My heart and my thanks go to all who are serving one another, all who are caring for our common home, and all who see and seek the good of others, not least the friend we do not yet know.”
