King Charles Reportedly Overruled His Son In Terms of Andrew Being Welcomed Into the Royal Fold

According to a source close to the Royal Family, Prince William is not ready to change his stance about his uncle Prince Andrew’s role in the royal family and as a public figure in general. However, he was spotted driving the disgraced Duke to church, with his wife Princess Catherine in the backseat.

Since the picture of William driving Andrew to church hit the papers and online, there’s been speculations that it is William’s way of showing public support for his uncle after he settled his accuser Virginia Giuffre out of court for a huge amount of money.

However, a source is saying that it was his father’s idea to welcome the Duke back into the family.

According to The Mirror, King Charles “overruled” his heir William to drive Andrew to the Scotland church.

This meant that the scenario for Britain’s most popular royal to be pictured alongside Britain’s most unpopular royal had finally been set.

Since the Duke settled out of court early last year, he’s been scarce when it comes to appearing with the Royal Family during public functions, but he did accompany his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, to church during the memorial service of her late husband.

At the time, the image caused backlash online as people questioned the sensibility of allowing him to take center-stage so soon following the sexual assault lawsuit.

Despite the fact that they’re now more willing to allow him back into the family, it is understood that Charles and William are still united in keeping Andrew away from the public eye.

During her funeral, he was not permitted to wear military uniform, nevertheless, he was permitted to wear them to watch the crowning of his eldest brother King Charles inside Westminster Abbey a few months later.
