Read on to find out more details about the drama series and how it landed the interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA.
Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman’s series The Gray House
While Kevin Costner is out of Yellowstone and busy with his new Horizon movies, it seems he is also busy working with Morgan Freeman. The pair are producing a Civil War spy drama series which is the latest project to nab an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA.
The interim agreement means that both producers agree to the term of the guild’s latest counter-offer to the AMPTP. Moreover, this comes despite the series having international distribution through Paramount Global.
Meanwhile, the actors’ guild has awarded more than 60 interim agreements to series and movies since the strike started earlier this month. As reported, Hallmark Channel has one to restart production on When Calls the Heart season 11.
Meanwhile, the new Apple TV+ series Tehran has snagged one. Moreover, movies including The Watchers, which has involvement from Warner Bros. and the Discovery movie New Line are on the list along with the Glenn Close movie The Summer Book and two A24 movies, Mother Mary and I Dream of Unicorns.
More about The Gray House
Dan Cohen’s Paramount Global Content Distribution will be distributing the six-episode series, The Gray House. However, the series is yet to have a US streamer or network attached.
Meanwhile, the series is about the three women that General Ulysses S. Grant credited for helping the North to win the Civil War. It tells the story of the unsung women who turned the tide of the American Civil War in favor of the North.
Moreover, the three women are a Richmond socialite and her daughter, a courtesan and a former slave. They go on to build the first successful female spy ring, which operated in plain side of the Confederate High Command. The three brave women risk their lives and liberty to help win the war and preserve American democracy.
The Gray House is based on an original script penned by Leslie Greif and Darrell Fetty, together with John Sayles. The series is directed by Roland Joffe. Up until now, the series has been filming in Eastern Europe.
As reported by Deadline, Costner executive produces under his Territory Pictures banner, while Rod Lake and Howard Kaplan produce. As for Freeman, he is producing alongside his producing partner Lori McCreary under their banner, Revelations Entertainment.
As yet there is no news of when the Civil War spy series, The Gray House, will premiere, but at least we know that production will go ahead.
