Great news for horror fans as Kevin Bacon is set to star in Blumhouse TV’s horror action series, The Bondsman. The show has been ordered straight-to-series on Amazon Prime Video.
According to Variety, The Bondsman tells the story of Hub Halloran (Bacon), a backwoods country hunter. In a twist of fate, Hub comes back from the dead and gets an unexpected second chance at life and love. Meanwhile, his almost-forgotten musical career also comes to life. However, he soon finds that his old job now has a demonic new twist.
So far, no news is out about other cast members of this intriguing new Prime Video series. Meanwhile, The Bondsman was created by Grainger David (The Chair) who will also executive produce. Other executive producers include Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris McCumber, and Chris Dickie for Blumhouse TV. Moreover, Paul Shapiro from CrimeThink will also executive produce along with Kevin Bacon. Erik Oleson is the series showrunner and executive producer via CrimeThink
Meanwhile, Kevin Bacon has a lengthy career in horror and most recently starred in Blumhouse’s They/Them. However, he also starred in Friday the 13th early in his career and has starred in Tremors, Flatliners, Hollow Man, Stir of Echoes and many more.
Moreover, Bacon isn’t a stranger to Amazon Prime Video, as he previously starred in I Love Dick, making this his second outing for the streamer.
As for Prime Video, the Bondsman marks their latest collaboration with Blumhouse. It seems they were also behind the upcoming horror dramedy, The Horror of Dolores Roach, set to premiere on July 7.
Reportedly, Prime Video has ordered eight half-hour episodes, but production won’t start until current guild labor negotiations are resolved.
However, horror fans can look forward to seeing Kevin Bacon as an undead bounty hunter in the future.
