Fans of Kelsey Grammer in the role of Frasier are already looking forward to the reboot of the popular sitcom.
When they heard Kelsey Grammer was to star in a reboot of the popular sitcom, Frasier, fans wanted to know if he would revisit the iconic Cheers bar. The reboot is, of course, set in Boston, so this would be the perfect nostalgic moment for friends of both Cheers and Frasier. Today recently interviewed Grammer and asked him whether the show will revisit Cheers. Read on to find out more and watch the interview with Hoda and Jenny.
As many of us look forward to Kelsey Grammer coming back to our screens in a reboot of Frasier, many have questioned whether the show would revisit the iconic Cheers bar. Fans will recall when Frasier was a supporting character in the popular comedy, regularly visiting for a drink or two. While initially, he was in a supporting role, he was eventually promoted to a series regular. Even better, after the sitcom ended, he went on to star in a Seattle-based spinoff comedy, Frasier.
It has already been confirmed that the rebooted Frasier will be set in Boston. This has many fans wondering not only if he will visit Cheers, but whether any of the cast of Cheers and Frasier will return to the screen.
This week, Kelsey was interviewed on Today with Hoda and Jenna and was asked if he will be visiting the Cheers bar. Unfortunately, he only gave a cryptic response, as he is not allowed to reveal specifics about the plot. However, he did say he has an idea of what the Cheers bar has become, saying:
There’s mention of a certain bar. I had heard it had gone kind of [belly up].
However, he did hear from someone that had visited the Boston alehouse so possibly the bar is still going. Readers can watch Kelsey’s interview below, and it also offers news about a fun new movie project set in the 70s, Jesus Revolution.
When Paramount+ first announced the Frasier reboot, fans were surprised to find it set in a different city. This makes it quite a shock that he will be living in his old stomping grounds. While the plot is still to be revealed, the interview reveals that Miles and Daphne will not appear in the show. However, he did say there would be welcome to visit in a cameo role.
However, Frasier and Lilith’s son, Freddy, will play an important role in the rebooted series. Grammer also mentioned that the Frasier reboot was inspired by the reboot of Roseanne (but minus the lead character herself), The Connors.
Hopefully, fans won’t have too long to wait until Frasier returns to our small screens.
