Julie Chrisley was sentenced to serve seven years in federal prison for tax and fraud-related offenses. Meanwhile, her husband, Todd was sentenced to 12 years. Originally, it was thought that they would both be in prisons in Florida. However, that seemed to have changed and she reported to a prison in Kentucky on January 17.
Julie Chrisley – Will Be Far From Todd
At one stage, folks theorized that the family from Chrisley Knows Best might relocate to Florida. That’s because Todd will serve his time at the FCI Pensacola. Apparently, as far as federal facilities go, it’s not too terrible. But obviously, his family had hoped for them to both be in Florida, if not at the same facility. With their mom now going to Kentucky, that could make it way more difficult to visit them.
Julie Chrisley was thought to be going to the FCI Tallahassee facility, However, later news suggested she would go to FCI Marianna in Florida. Tallahassee is where Ghislain Maxwell is serving her sentence. Actually, Marianna is considered a posh prison, once again, if there can actually be such a thing. And, it is a minimum security facility. But, she won’t be going there after all.
Julie Chrisley – Went To FMC Lexington In Kentucky
The Tallahassee Democrat reported on the change of prisons for Julie. The outlet noted that she “was scheduled to self-report to the Federal Medical Center in Lexington by noon Tuesday, according to records filed in the Northern District of Georgia.” Additionally, it’s “an administrative security federal medical center with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp.” So, she will stay in the camp.
At the moment, Julie Chrisley will be in a camp that houses 223 offenders. Located in Fayette county, the facility is in Eastern Kentucky. While visitors can see inmates, it might be a bit difficult for the Chrisley Knows Best family. Bear in mind, they live in Nashville, Tennessee. So, it will be about a three-and-a-half-hour drive. But, from Pensacola to Lexington will take more than ten hours of driving. So, the family might have to juggle their time a lot.
Julie Chrisley – Why Was The Prison Changed?
There was no reason given for the change of prison that Julie Chrisley serves her time in. Possibly, if the family intends to remain in Nashville, consideration was taken for the younger kids to visit their mom often. However, that is only speculation. If the reason emerges, we will be sure to let you know.
