Josiah Duggar Breaks Parents’ Debt-Free Rule

The Duggar family news and updates reveal that Josiah Duggar, one of the 19 kids of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, has broken the debt-free rule of his parents. It has been reported that Josiah has taken out a $573K mortgage loan to build his home with his wife, Lauren.

Duggars In Financial Crunch

Ever since Josh Duggar’s child molestation case, the Duggar family’s reputation has been declining and as TLC cancelled their reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, the family has also been experiencing financial crunch.

Josiah and Lauren, who like to live a more reclusive life compared to the other Duggar siblings, have recently taken out a loan to pay for their 2,556-square-foot house on a piece of land that Jim Bob and Michelle transferred to them.

Jim Bob and Michelle are known for their debt-free rule. They have built and accumulated properties and assets without taking loans, and they wanted their children to follow the same steps.

Jim Bob has several opportunities to build wealth. He served in the Arkansas House of Representatives and invested largely in real estate.

Plus, being on the TLC series paid handsomely. 19 Kids and Counting ran from 2008 to 2015, totaling 10 seasons. It was then replaced with Counting On, which ran for 11 seasons from 2015 to 2020. Then there were rumors that Jim Bob controlled the finances of his children, so that’s a ton of money.

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to pay cash in one go, especially as the family’s reality shows have been canceled. That’s a big chunk of the family income sources gone.

According to The Sun’s report, it seems that Josiah and Lauren have acquired a 30-year mortgage loan so that they can build their home on the 5.92 acres of property next to Jim Bob and Michelle’s home.

Did Josiah and Lauren Welcome a New Baby?

Josiah and Lauren have been absent on social media ever since big brother Josh’s case, so there’s barely any update about them. They tied the knot in 2018, had a miscarriage, and then welcomed their new baby, Bella, in 2019.

In a video from Jed and Katey’s gender reveal, fans spotted Lauren looking pregnant. Then, James also shared a photo of a newborn, and fans speculated that it might be Josiah and Lauren’s second baby. However, there isn’t any confirmation or any baby announcement from the Duggar family.
