Jill Dillard Speaks Out About Jim Bob’s Views on Her Having More Kids

Duggar Family News reveals that Jill Dillard has started to open up more about having children and her family’s views on how many children she had. Growing up in the Duggar family, it was said that God blesses women with the number of children she has based on how well they follow their religion. Children were seen as the blessings you got in life and if you had more children, God felt that you were worthy of more blessings.

Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, got a lot of backlash when Jill found out that she had fertility issues. She recently shared with her fans what happened when Jim Bob Duggar found out.

Jill Dillard’s Fertility Issues Come Out

Jill’s famous family is known for how large it is and all of the children that her mother, Michelle Duggar had.

It is almost a given that any woman in this family would have to have a lot of children to show just how much God blessed her family. When Jill and her husband were ready to have kids, there was a lot of pressure on them.

Jill recently admitted that there was a lot of pressure to have a large family as soon as she got married.

She told her fans, “In the book, I talk about the shift of going from feeling pressure, being OK with having a lot of children, in that belief system that I grew up in, to then having the shift of being like, do I trust in God with the number of children that I’m supposed to have, could also mean trusting Him if he doesn’t give us 20 kids. Am I being punished for my lack of desire of having 20 kids? All those mind games that you play.”

Jill hasn’t had wasy pregnancies with her children. While she was giving birth to her second child, Samuel, she suffered a uterine rupture. At this point, she didn’t know how safe it would be to have kids. That is when she got the help of a fertility specialist.

Jill told her father about these fertility issues and it didn’t go the way she thought it would. She said that Jim Bob was “trying to control the situation” when it came to her having more children.

Derick added that the amount of kids one has is “another toxic aspect of this culture. There’s also a sense of hierarch that you’re less than if you have less kids.”

No matter what kind of hate they have gotten, Jill and Derick continue to raise their kids the way that they feel is best, regardless of what Jim Bob and Michelle have said.
