Jefferson White Is Permanently Scarred From Starring In Yellowstone

Yellowstone actor Jefferson White opened up about permanent scarring in an unfortunate place from riding horses on the show.

As fans of the modern Western know well, Yellowstone is full of action and it isn’t always easy playing your part. In fact, just being part of the cast on the show involves the infamous “Cowboy Camp,” a rigorous training program to get actors used to horseback riding and more. While obviously, the show has stunt performers, this doesn’t mean that the cast is totally safe from injury. In fact, Jefferson White, who plays Jimmy Hurdstrom, recently opened up about the unfortunate scarring he has in a certain place on his body.

Yellowstone star Jefferson White scarred for life

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jefferson White opened up about some unfortunate scarring to his body from starring in Yellowstone. In fact, it is located in an embarrassing area of his torso and is likely there for life.

As fans can imagine, the action in Yellowstone is mainly handled by skilled stunt performers. However, this doesn’t mean that the actors in the Taylor Sheridan drama aren’t at risk for injury. It turns out that when actors join the cast of the modern Western, they have to go through a rigorous training program, nicknamed “Cowboy Camp.” The program is designed to prepare the cast for horseback riding, as well as the physical toll of life on the Yellowstone ranch.

Obviously, working with live animals can be dangerous, so it is perfectly understandable that the cast has to be prepared for the risks of the job. Reportedly, there have been a number of near-miss incidents on the show, including a runaway bull that hit a stunt woman and broke a camera.

However, in Jefferson White’s case, his work on Yellowstone involves permanent (and rather embarrassing) scarring from his time riding a horse.

‘Rorschach inkblot of scars’ on Jefferson’s butt cheeks

While in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, White spoke about the gruesome injuries he suffered while playing his character, ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom. In fact, he said he has been left with permanent scarring due to his time on horseback that are in an unfortunate place on his body. Speaking of the scarring, Jefferson said:

I’ve got some permanent scars, just a little bit T.M.I., on the inside of my butt cheeks.

There’s a kind of, what do they call them, Rorschach inkblot of scars that will probably never heal. Other than that I’ve been very lucky.

The actor added that he was “very sore, very bruised,” from the initial horseback riding.

Later in the interview, White clarified that he believes he got the scars due to being the newest to horseback riding of the entire cast. He believes this is why his co-stars didn’t suffer from similar injuries. However, we’ll promise not to laugh about the scars and their unfortunate location.

In fact, Jefferson described the scars as being very similar to the Dutton brand his character received on his chest. He said the scars appear in a definite “Y” shape on the inside of his butt cheeks.

Meanwhile, it is a little ironic that White received his own type of Dutton “brand” from the series. However, it is unfortunate that his time riding horses on the ranch has left him with permanent marks. One thing is for sure; he won’t quickly forget starring in the hit Taylor Sheridan series.
