Jamie Lynn Spears Becomes Latest Star To Join ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars” is beginning to take shape as more celebrity contestants are announced.

The latest to join this ever growing cast is Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, who just had an insanely good year after the release of her memoir “Things I Should Have Said,” the return of her hit Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101,” now styled as “Zoey 102,” and reprising her role in Netflix’s “Sweet Magnolias” season 3.

She’s about to have an even better year dancing her bum and toes off in the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Jamie will soon be taking to the ballroom floor with partner Alan Bersten. On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the full cast was announced, but prior to that, “Vanderpump Rules” star, Ariana Madix, and “The Bachelorette” lead Charity Lawson had been announced as part of the lineup.

Announcing her casting on Good Morning America, the actress and singer revealed that the thing she is most excited about is using the salary she gets from the show to support the writers and actors on strike.

“I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work,” Spears said on “GMA.” “I figured I’ll do this and I will donate my weekly salary to SAG, WGA and just give back to them at a time where they can’t even give to themselves.”

Apart from her successful career, Jamie is frequently on the news for her complicated relationship with her sister Britney Spears.

“I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members. If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don’t feel like there’s anything else that I need to say,” she told Variety in an interview in June. “I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal. All I can focus on now is my girls, my husband and the work that I’m doing.”

which is set to broadcast on ABC this year after being produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions last year and streamed on Disney+.

“Dancing With the Stars” will premiere on ABC Tuesday, Sept. 28, with an expanded first episode.
