How Jill Duggar’s Parenting Is Different From Her Famous Family’s Style

Jill Duggar is not following her parents’ footsteps when it comes to parenting her adorable three sons, Israel, 8, Samuel, 6, and the recently turned 1-year Frederick which she shares with husband Derick Dillard.

The world already knows how Jill’s parents Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar trained them, because right from their conception, to their birth, to their growth, and marriage (for the married ones) Jim and Michelle made sure the world watched everything about their 19 Kids on TV.

All through the long run of their family TV show, Jill was a part of it until she and her husband left the show in 2017 after deciding that enough was enough and that they can no longer endure being wrapped around patriarch Jim Bob’s manipulative fingers.

Jill Duggar — How Jill Plans To Parent Her Children

It is also world knowledge that the way the Duggar children were brought up by Jim Bob and Michelle was wrong in every shade.

First, they made sure all their 19 children were homeschooled just so that they would not be corrupted by the other children that attend public and private schools.

Secondly, they made a strict dress code rule where every female in the family is not allowed to put on pants, short sleeves, any clothes below the knee, or any form of revealing clothes. They are to at all times dress in long gowns or skirts. The reason is to avoid tempting the men to sin.

Thirdly, they made sure to chaperone their children’s suitors from their courtship stage, and even after marriage they still dictate what should take place in their children’s marriage.

The list goes on. Despite going through all this, Jill and Derick vowed to be better parents to their children, and what better way to do so than to be the opposite of Jim Bob and Michelle?

Instead of home school, Jill and Derick sent their boys to public school, and have at one time shared with her fans a fun time learning at home with her first son Israel after the 8-year-old used erasable marker to write on their window.

The 32-year-old mom captioned the post, “We like to try and make learning fun when we can!…We write on the windows with dry erase markers sometimes to reinforce concepts! Tell me some other ways you make learning fun.”

Just a few months ago, in March, Jill and Derick arrived at the conclusion that Israel is man enough to make dinner for the family and presented him with his first cooking task. With Jill as his tutor, Israel whooped out a mouth-watering chicken tortilla soup.

Jill Duggar — Halloween Is Also An Important Festival

As for celebrations, the Dillards celebrate right about everything that deserves to be celebrated. From birthdays, Anniversaries, Father’s Day, and even Halloween.

One thing about the Duggar family is that they are very religious, they don’t entertain every festive season, they have certain things they celebrate, like Christmas, new year, Thanksgiving, etc., but you see stuff like Halloween, naaaaahhhh, the Duggars consider such gatherings and celebration as the “Pagan.”

Michelle Duggar the wife of Jim Bob Duggar once made a post sometime in 2011, (the post has since been deleted) explaining how her family has celebrated/celebrates some festivals except for Halloween “While we do go to pumpkin patches and corn mazes, we don’t do the Halloween thing.”

“From the beginning of our marriage, we just kind of felt like we didn’t want to celebrate that holiday. But we enjoy the harvest celebration. Our church fellowship has had different celebrations through the years that we’ve been a part of, ones where the children can play games and receive candy and toys and do all kinds of fun things, like a cake walk.”

That’s the difference between Michelle’s parenting and Jill’s parenting. Jill and Derick make sure they celebrate Halloween with their children.
