When she discovers that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has pulled her son, Michael, into the same dangerous world she tried so hard to keep him out of. Willow wanted Michael to make peace with his dad, but this is really taking things a step too far.
He might not be packing a gun and serving himself up as a human bulletproof vest, but telling Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) which moves to make in running Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) organization doesn’t sound risk-free.
Carly’s quick thinking led her to pull Michael and Dex back into the partnership they both thought they were walking away from. It struck Carly as pure genius that if Sonny wasn’t onto them now, he probably wasn’t going to catch on.
This is the ideal time to let someone else step in and learn to run Sonny’s ship. The guy can’t do it forever, after all! But does she really want the person who takes over for him someday to be her first born son?
When it becomes clear to Willow that Michael’s intentions have shifted — and that he is now working to protect his father rather than harm him — it might buy him some time to figure things out, but she’s going to expect him to lay down this torch at some point.
While Michael may think he is doing the right thing, Willow is not likely to support his attachment to the mob. Can Michael really serve as Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) replacement, or is that wishful thinking on Carly’s part?
Willow’s perception of Carly will take a negative turn as she uncovers her role in this plan. Carly proposed the idea to Michael, leading him to believe that he had no choice but to participate in the family business or let his whole family suffer.
Willow won’t be able to hide her disappointment when she is forced to see this selfish side of Carly, a side that others have spoken about but that Willow previously dismissed.
Carly’s actions will raise questions about her priorities, and Willow may find herself feeling like she suddenly doesn’t relate to the only mother figure she had left in her life.
Nina will take full advantage of Willow’s anger toward Carly as an opportunity to connect with her — finally. Nina may realize that Willow is questioning Carly’s choices and could be open to growing closer to someone who understands her perspective.
Besides, Nina also had a rather difficult mother she couldn’t really relate to, and this could serve as the common ground she needs to worm her way into Willow’s world.
As the story unfolds, we can expect to see how the secret Nina is keeping could also complicate Willow’s view of her own mother, leaving her wondering if she can really trust anyone in this family. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
