As he tries to navigate a world in which Anna may no longer be a part, he will find himself at a fork in the road as his past reaches out to him for help. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is in trouble, and Valentin may be convinced that his help is desperately needed. With Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) looming over her and promising to expose her as the SEC rat, Nina feels her life is about to crumble just as soon as he comes to from his coma. But Valentin could put the brakes on all of it. Should he risk everything to protect her?
Valentin has always seen Nina as a shining star in his life, someone to be cherished and protected at all costs. The last time they spoke, he listened as Nina recounted the ups and downs of her life, including the fact that she learned Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) is her daughter. While he was over the moon for her, he still couldn’t shake off the guilt he felt for deceiving her about her daughter in the past. Learning Nina’s life was looking up, and that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was a bit part of that, sat well with Valentin. Nina finally got what he thought she deserved and now Ned wants to blow it all apart.
Valentin isn’t going to allow that. As everyone anxiously awaits Ned’s awakening, Valentin may see a chance to manipulate the situation to Nina’s advantage. He could easily falsely admit to being behind the tip-off and, with Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) as his attorney to confirm it; it would be all too believable. But at what cost? Would Valentin be willing to give up his ELQ shares to buy Ned’s silence? And what about Anna? What will she think of Valentin’s confession?
Rumor has it Valentin and Anna will already be on rocky ground as she attempts to navigate life as a civilian. Being an agent with WSB has been her identity for so long that Anna may not really know who she is without her career. Watching Valentin carry on with his and go off on missions will cut deep for Anna.
Furthermore, while she certainly doesn’t think of Valentin as being anything like Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), he’ll still remind her of the pain Victor has caused. Adding fuel to the fire, when Valentin confesses to having worked to put Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) away, it’s going to leave Anna wondering what is going on with him. She might not have the energy to deal with her own drama and his this year. Stay tuned for more General Hospital news and spoilers just ahead.
